I was yelled at by both Wes (Stone installer) and Matt (Salesman) of Fireside Hearth and Home.
I'm so grateful for Matt, at the Willmar Fireplace Hearth & Home!!! 9 years ago, he made sure I was taken care of on days like today. The power has been off for at least 3 or more hours. My wonderful fireplace is keeping me toasty warm no matter what!! Matt is an excellent salesman & Representative for Fireplace Hearth & Home. He bends over backwards to make sure his customers are getting the best deal on any purchase they make. Service doesn't end after the purchase. Matt always available for any questions I might have, even after 9 years. He's a good guy!!
The Fireside Hearth and Home stone mason did poor stone work which caused delays and required him to come back 2 additional times to replace stones to make it look good. Once he was done, I talked with my salesman and scheduled the final setup and testing of the fireplace. I was then contacted by the other salesman Matt about the installation and that he was taking care of setting everything up. I told him that I couldn't be home for the installation and he insisted on me leaving the final payment on the mantle so the installer could take it back with him. I told him that I would like to see that everything is working and nothing is broken or missing before I make the final payment. I told him I would stop in the Montevideo store the next day and make the final payment. That's when I got read the riot act about how I needed to pay them and that I can't keep their money hostage. I finally got tired of being yelled at so I hung up.
We are finally done with the installation of the fireplace and Fireside Hearth and Home has been paid in full. We will never do business with them again.
We have had nothing but problems with these people for the past 6-7 weeks, trying to get our fireplace fixed. First, we were told they would be out to replace the thermocoupler but it would be a week before they could be out. After 10 days of not hearing back, we called them, only to be told it would be another 2 weeks before they could be out. After finally coming out to replace the thermocoupler, the fireplace quit working again, 20 minutes after they left. They did come out the next day, to finish diagnosing the problem and needed to order a control valve which would be in, in about a week. After 10 days of waiting, we were told it would be in on the 10th of Dec. On the 11th, I called to see if it was in and they couldn't tell us because they hadn't unpacked their new shipments yet. On the 12th, they were going to give me a call back, "one way or the other" and have not heard a thing. Today, they are not even answering their phone.
My experience with Fireside Hearth and Home in Willmar, MN was off the charts. The owner of the company actually did our service and gave us an education on our new fireplace. He took the time to explain everything and it was a great conversation telling us his background. Couldn't have been any happier. I understand the owner doesn't typically do some of the service work, but because of their high number of calls he wanted to make sure all the customers were served in a timely manner. Thanks Mike.
